Get your business verified by Meta

Prove to Meta that your business is real, so your WhatsApp number can message more people each day and show a trusted profile. The whole process happens on Meta’s screens, not in Raion Hub. Filling in the form takes about 20 minutes; Meta’s review can take from a few hours to about two weeks.

Before you start — you need a Facebook account that is an admin of the Meta business portfolio your WhatsApp number sits in, and your business website. A proper website is the strongest proof: Meta often verifies a business from it without asking for documents. Keep your SSM documents at hand in case Meta asks for them (see the list below). If your number is not connected yet, do that first: Connect your WhatsApp number.

Meta’s labels on this page are in italics, because Meta changes them without telling us. Raion Hub labels are in bold, as everywhere in this guide.

What verification gives you

A higher daily messaging limit. Meta caps how many different people a business can start a conversation with in a rolling 24-hour period. Replies to people who messaged you first do not count. As of Meta’s rules in force since October 2025 (Messaging limits ):

Where you areDaily limit
New business portfolio, nothing done250 people
Business verified, and Meta’s quality review approves you2,000 people, raised straight away
After that, if you send good-quality messages and use half your limitMeta raises it by itself to 10,000, then 100,000, then no limit

Verification is the fastest of the three ways Meta offers to reach 2,000. The other two are slower: having a partner verify you, or sending 2,000 good-quality template messages to different people over 30 days. The limit belongs to your whole business portfolio, so every number in it shares the same cap.

A trusted profile. A verified business can later ask Meta for an Official Business Account — the blue tick beside your name in WhatsApp. Verification is one of the conditions; the others are an approved display name, two-step verification on the number, 30 days on the platform and a clean policy record (Official Business Accounts ). In Raion Hub, a number with that status shows a blue check beside its name on the Accounts tab.

Fewer surprises. An unverified portfolio is the one Meta knows least about, so it is the first to be limited when something looks wrong. Verification does not make a number ban-proof — only good sending habits do that (see Keep the number healthy).

What a Malaysian business needs

Meta checks three things and makes sure they agree with each other: your legal business name, your business address or phone number, and a way to confirm you control the business (an email on your domain, or the domain itself).

Start with a proper website. Often Meta needs nothing more than a website on your own domain that shows the same business name, address and phone number as the form, and it does not ask for documents at all. A Facebook or Instagram page is sometimes accepted instead of a website, but it is weaker proof and more likely to lead to a request for documents or a rejection. If you can, put up even a simple one-page website before you start.

If Meta does ask for documents, have these ready:

What Meta wantsWhat to use in Malaysia
Proof of your legal business nameYour SSM document — the certificate of incorporation (Section 17, formerly Form 9) for a Sdn Bhd, or the business registration certificate (Form D) for a sole proprietor or partnership. A recent SSM company profile also works
Proof of address or phone numberA utility bill, bank statement, or phone bill in the business’s name, less than a few months old, showing the same address or number you type into the form
A business email or domainAn email address on your own domain, such as [email protected]. A free Gmail or Hotmail address is not accepted for the email method. If you only have a website, Meta can verify the domain instead
Your website (strongly recommended)The business name, address and phone in your website footer should match the SSM document and the form

Three rules decide most outcomes:

  • Everything must match, letter for letter. The legal name on the form is the one on the SSM document, including Sdn. Bhd. or Enterprise, not the brand name on your signboard.
  • Upload the whole document, in colour, not cropped. A photo of a screen, a partial scan or an edited file is refused.
  • The document must be current. An expired business registration is the most common reason a Malaysian sole proprietor is rejected.

Meta’s own list of accepted documents is at About business verification . Check it before you upload — it changes.

Steps

Open the Security Center

Sign in to Meta Business Suite  with the account that is an admin of your business portfolio. Open Settings (the gear at the bottom left), then Security Center. On some accounts the same place is under Business settings → Security Center.

If you manage more than one portfolio, check the name at the top left first. You want the portfolio that holds your WhatsApp number — the one you chose when you connected it in Raion Hub.

Start verification

Under Business verification, click Start verification.

If the button is greyed out, Meta does not think your portfolio needs verification yet. Fill in every field under Business info (legal name, address, phone, website) and make sure the WhatsApp number is already connected to this portfolio, then come back.

Enter your business details

Choose your country (Malaysia), then say whether the business is registered. Type the legal name exactly as it appears on your SSM document, your registered address, the business phone number and your website.

Do not type your brand name here. Meta compares this field to your document. You can fix the brand name people see on WhatsApp separately — that is the display name on the number, not the legal name here.

Pick your business from Meta’s list, or say it is not listed

Meta shows businesses it already knows with a similar name. If yours is there, select it. If not, choose My business isn’t listed — this is normal for most SMEs. Meta then checks your website, or asks you for documents.

Upload documents, if Meta asks

If your website was enough, Meta skips this step. Otherwise, upload the SSM document as proof of the legal name. If it also shows your address or phone, say so when asked; otherwise upload a utility bill or bank statement as the second document.

Confirm you control the business

Choose how Meta sends you a code: an email on your domain (the easiest), a text message or call to the business number, or domain verification if your website’s domain is already verified in Business Suite. Enter the code and submit.

Wait, and watch the Security Center

The status reads In review. Meta emails the decision to the admin’s address and shows it in the same place. You do not need to do anything in Raion Hub — the higher limit applies to the number automatically once Meta approves it.

How long it takes

Many businesses hear back within one to three working days. Meta allows itself longer, and a case that needs a second look can take about two weeks. Submitting again does not speed it up — it starts the clock again.

The messaging-limit increase is a separate, automatic step. After verification, Meta reviews the quality of what you have sent so far and then either raises the limit to 2,000 straight away or tells you what is still missing. A brand-new number that has sent nothing yet is usually approved once verification passes.

If Meta rejects it

Read the rejection email first — it names the reason. Then:

Reason Meta givesWhat it usually meansWhat to do
The document does not match the business nameBrand name typed instead of the legal name, or a missing Sdn. Bhd.Correct the legal name under Business info, then resubmit with the same document
The document is not acceptableCropped, blurry, a screenshot, edited, or expiredUpload a clean colour scan or PDF of the whole current document
Address or phone could not be confirmedThe bill shows a different address or a personal numberUse a bill in the business’s name at the registered address, or use the email or domain method instead
Email could not be verifiedA free email address, or the code was entered too lateUse an address on your own domain and enter the code within the time Meta gives you
Business is not eligibleThe portfolio is missing details, or has a policy restrictionComplete Business info. If a restriction is listed, resolve that first — see Getting a restricted number back

You can resubmit as many times as you need. If the reason is unclear, the rejection message has a link to Meta’s support chat; ask them which document they expect. Raion Hub cannot submit or appeal on your behalf, because the documents belong to your business — but support is happy to look at the rejection with you before you resubmit.

How this relates to your number in Raion Hub

  • Verification belongs to the Meta business portfolio, not to Raion Hub. Nothing changes in your workspace settings. The number you connected in Connect your WhatsApp number lives in that portfolio, so verifying the portfolio covers that number — and any other number you connect into it later.
  • Meta’s daily limit is separate from your Message Quota in Raion Hub. The quota on the Accounts tab counts messages your plan allows per month; Meta’s limit counts people per day. A campaign stops when either runs out.
  • The Health & safety tab shows each number’s health score and quality rating. That is where you will see the effect of good or bad sending habits. See Change a number’s settings.

Keep the number healthy

A verified business can still be restricted. Meta restricts numbers that people block or report, and warns first, then blocks template sending for 1 or 3 days, then all sending for 5, 7 or 30 days, then locks the account (Policy enforcement ). These habits keep you out of that ladder:

  • Only message people who said yes. Meta requires an opt-in before you start a conversation, and it must name your business (Obtaining user opt-in ). A form on your website, a WhatsApp keyword, a tick box at the counter — keep a record of which one each contact used.
  • Honour “stop”. Turn on opt-out enforcement in Outbound control so a contact who replies STOP is never messaged again by a campaign.
  • Use approved templates, and keep them honest. Every template carries its own quality rating. One that people block drops to Low quality and can be paused by Meta. Say who you are and why you are writing in the first line.
  • Grow slowly on a new number. Send to a few hundred people a day for the first week or two, not thousands on day one. Meta raises limits for numbers that send steadily and get read.
  • Watch the quality chip. On the Accounts tab, a number with a problem wears a Medium quality or Low quality chip. Pause campaigns and look at what you sent last before sending more.
  • Clean your list before a campaign. Remove duplicates and numbers that never replied. A high block rate — around 2 percent or more — is what gets a number restricted.
