Connect your WhatsApp number
Link a WhatsApp Business number to Raion Hub so incoming messages reach your team and your automations can answer them. Most of the work happens on Meta’s own screens, so allow about 10 minutes.
Before you start — your plan includes WhatsApp and your role includes the WhatsApp permission; you have a free account slot (Lite 1, Core 1, Max 2); and you can log in to the Facebook account for the Meta business portfolio that holds the number. If the WhatsApp Business card is not in Integrations at all, one of the first two is the reason — the card is hidden rather than greyed out, so you are not looking in the wrong place.
Steps
Open the WhatsApp page
In the sidebar, under Automation, click Integrations. In the card grid,
click WhatsApp Business — the card whose blurb reads
Connected numbers, click-to-chat links, channel settings and outbound guardrails.
The bottom line of that card tells you where you stand before you even click it:
Not connected, with a Connect link beside the chevron — nothing is set up- a
Disconnectedwarning pill then· 1 account— an account exists but no number is live on it - plain text like
2 accounts · 2 numbers— all well
Automation → Integrations. WhatsApp counts numbers, and deliberately shows no “last lead” line — it is a messaging channel, not a lead source.
The page opens on Accounts, the first of five tabs: Accounts, Link generator, Lead capture, Outbound control and Health & safety.
Open the Add menu
In the top bar, click Add, then Account — its caption reads
Connect a WhatsApp number. On a phone, the same two items are behind the +
button in the page’s own title band.
If nothing is connected yet, the empty state on the Accounts tab says
No WhatsApp accounts connected and its Connect your first account button
opens the same dialog.
**Add** carries both creates on this page. **Account** connects a number; **Capture rule** jumps to Lead capture.
Choose a fresh connection or an existing account’s settings
The Add WhatsApp account dialog offers two tiles. Read both: one starts the number on default settings, the other inherits everything a disconnected number already had.
| Tile | Choose it when |
|---|---|
| Connect a new number | Start fresh with default settings. Choose this for a first-time connection or an extra number. |
| Use an existing account’s settings | Changed your number? Connect it onto a disconnected account to keep its members, automations, templates and AI knowledge. |
Changing your business number? The second tile is the one that keeps everything you have already set up.
Pick the second tile and the dialog turns into a list of accounts you can
inherit from, under the line
Pick an account below. Your new number is connected onto it and keeps everything it already has, instead of starting from scratch.
Each row shows the old number’s name, its number, a Paused or Disconnected
chip, and a Use this button. The back arrow at the top left returns you to
the two tiles.
If there is nothing to inherit, the dialog says No previous accounts to reuse
and offers Back — go back and take Connect a new number instead.
Finish the signup on Meta’s screens
From here the screens belong to Meta, not to Raion Hub. Raion Hub opens them in whichever way your device can actually complete, and you do not get to choose:
| On | What happens |
|---|---|
| A desktop browser | Meta’s dialog opens in a pop-up window with Raion Hub behind it |
| An ordinary phone browser tab | The tab navigates away to Meta and comes back by itself |
| The Raion Hub iPhone or Android app | An in-app browser tab opens and closes itself when it is done |
| An installed app on your Home Screen | Nothing navigates. A dialog asks you to tap out to your browser — see below |
On a phone, that last case is normal and nothing has gone wrong. The dialog is titled Continue in your browser and explains that Meta’s signup cannot run inside the installed app. Tap Continue.
If a tap does nothing — usually because your phone handed the link to the Facebook app, which cannot finish a connection — the dialog stays open on purpose. Under Connection link is the full address. Long-press it, copy it, and paste it into your browser’s address bar. That route works on every device. You can finish in a different browser from the one you started in: Raion Hub watches for the result for up to 30 minutes and checks again the moment you come back to its tab, so the connection still lands in your workspace.
Do not press Add Payment Method on Meta’s final screen. It navigates Meta’s window away instead of closing it, so the last handshake never happens: the number exists at Meta and is not connected here. You will see a message saying the window closed before we could finish connecting it. Nothing is lost — run Add → Account again, and Meta skips every screen you already answered and takes you to Finish.
Pick which accounts come across, if we ask
If your Meta business portfolio shares more than one WhatsApp account with us, a dialog titled Choose accounts to connect appears. It is a normal step, not an error, and it is common on a phone because those paths carry no hint about which account you meant.
Nothing is pre-ticked, on purpose. Tick the accounts you want in this workspace
— the rest stay untouched — and press Connect, which shows a count once you
have ticked something, like Connect (2).
Closing this dialog abandons a half-finished connection: nothing is connected. Run Add → Account again, which is quick, because Meta remembers the screens you already answered.
Wait for the page to reload
The last call can take up to about 15 seconds, because Raion Hub is setting the number up at Meta. Do not retry while it is working.
When it succeeds you get WhatsApp account onboarded. — or, if you connected
onto an existing account, Number reconnected — its previous settings were kept.
Then the whole page reloads itself. That is meant to happen; it is not a
crash. If there were any non-fatal warnings, they show as amber messages first
and the reload waits a few seconds so you can read them.
Check the row
Your number now has a row on the Accounts tab: its display name, the WhatsApp Business account name beneath, and the number itself on the right.
A healthy row is deliberately quiet — number and health score, nothing more. Nothing turns green to tell you it is fine. Chips appear only when something is worth your attention:
| Chip | Meaning |
|---|---|
Disconnected | The number is not connected |
Medium quality / Low quality | Meta’s rating dropped. A good rating shows no chip at all |
| A blue check beside the name | An official business account (hover it for Official Business Account) |
88/100 with a small activity icon | The number’s health score |
The health score chip is its own button — clicking it opens the number straight on **Send safety** instead of **Overview**.
Clicking anywhere else on the row opens that number’s settings. See Change a number’s settings.
How many WhatsApp accounts your plan allows
| Plan | WhatsApp accounts |
|---|---|
| Lite | 1 |
| Core | 1 |
| Max | 2 |
The allowance is Number of official WhatsApp Business API accounts you can connect and manage.
and it is shared across every workspace on the same subscription — so a
workspace can find the allowance already spent by another one on the same plan.
With no slots left, Account in the Add menu is greyed out and its caption
changes to Number limit reached. Upgrade your plan to add more. Typing the
connect address by hand does not get around it.
Your shared message quota
The Message Quota card at the top of the Accounts tab counts the
messages Raion Hub sends out for you. Its sub-line says what is being counted:
Shared across every connected account, member and workspace on your plan. Resets on subscription renewal.
One pool, every number, every member, every workspace on the subscription.
- Past 80 per cent you get a warning:
You've used more than 80% of your message quota. - Spent, automatic sending pauses until the quota resets. Replies you type yourself still go out.
The card does not appear at all until your plan details have loaded, so give it a moment on a slow connection.
Who on your team can use this number
Per-number access is not on this page any more. The card at the bottom of
Accounts says Member access moved, and its Go to Channel access button
opens Settings on Channel access, where each member is granted features
number by number.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No WhatsApp Business card in Integrations | Your plan does not include WhatsApp, or your role does not include the WhatsApp permission | A workspace owner can upgrade; anyone else asks an owner or an admin. A downgrade removes the permission from everyone, owner included |
You don't have access — Your plan doesn't include WhatsApp. Upgrade to connect a number and start messaging from Raion Hub. | You reached the page by link, on a plan without WhatsApp | The workspace owner upgrades in Settings → Subscription.
